"Jillians Drawers is one of over 50 businesses in Tompkins county paying its employees a living wage."

ITHACA, NEW YORK, January 23, 2012
Jillians Drawers is one of over 50 businesses in Tompkins county paying its employees a living wage. Thats is $11.67 and hour, and workers say it makes a big difference. Kelly Serbonich has been working at Jillian's Drawers for the past 4 years.
“I'm a single parent and I have a child that’s six so this job has made all the difference in terms of us being able to live the lifestyle we would like to and be able to support myself and him.”
. . .
People who oppose a minimum wage increase in Albany say it will make it harder for small businesses to compensate. but for businesses like Jillian's Drawers, the commitment to staff is more important.
“We're very family focused and a very supportive work environment and living wage is apart of making sure that people can take care of their families and live the lifestyle they want to and not be scrapping by,” says Serbonich.
